Supracondylar wedge osteotomy of the humerus

Abstract
|

|
Five eases of supracondylaz wedge osteotomy of the humerus following fractures of the elbow are presented. All the cases had the changes in the carrying angle of 24 to 55 degrees as compazed to the normal side.
A closed wedge osteotomy was performed at the supracondylaz level and was fixed with two Kirschner wires. Full correction ranging from 24 to 55 degrees was obtained, while in two cases there were over-correction of three and five degrees, respectively.
Surgical technique of insuripg correction from displacement, tilting. and rotational deformity of the distal fragment is discussed.
